Life is loud, overwhelming, and exhausting, and many of us are running on empty. Psalm 46 reminds us that God is our refuge, our strength, and a very present help in trouble. His presence does not erase the chaos, but it completely changes how we face it. The command to "be still" is not simply a gentle invitation to quiet devotion. In its original context, it is God telling His people to release their grip on what they cannot control. Much of our restlessness comes from drinking at the wrong wells, chasing fame, success, and busyness instead of the life-giving presence of God. Because Jesus said "It is finished," the weight of the world is no longer ours to carry. We are free to live from a settled confidence that God is ruling over all things.
