Life will bring storms, but Psalm 91 reminds us that God is our refuge, our fortress, and our shelter in every season. Through four powerful names, Elyon, Shaddai, Yahweh, and Elohim, we see that God is sovereign, immovable, self-sufficient, and faithful to His creation. His promises include shelter, deliverance, constant protection, and the assurance that no evil will ultimately overcome those who trust in Him. He does not promise a trouble-free life, but He does promise to be present in every trial and to use each one to shape us into who He has called us to be. Our response is to dwell with Him consistently, talk to Him openly, and surrender our battles to His care. God is not a last resort. He is the first place we should run.
