We live in a world full of competing voices about Jesus. Some say He was just a great teacher, others say that He was only a man, and others say that He’s irrelevant to life today. Add to that the rise of false teachers within the church itself—charismatic leaders twisting Scripture for their own ends—and it’s no wonder many Christians wrestle with doubt, confusion, or uncertainty.
The apostle John wrote his first letter to a church facing those same struggles. Believers in the first century were asking: “Can I really trust what I believe about Jesus? Can I be sure?” John’s answer then is the same as it is now: Yes. You can be sure. Starting this Sunday, we’ll walk through the letter of 1 John, discovering how the gospel anchors us in truth, deepens our fellowship with God and one another, fills us with joy, and compels us to a life of real love rooted in Jesus.
