How we love reveals which kingdom we belong to - God's or the world's. In 1 John 2, the apostle John teaches that true love is both an ancient command and made new through Jesus Christ. Walking in the light means seeing reality clearly, including our own brokenness, while loving others in embodied community. John warns against loving the world's trifecta of evil: desires of the flesh, desires of the eyes, and pride of life. Instead, we're called to set our hearts on eternal things, expressing Christ-like love in practical ways that demonstrate our allegiance to God's kingdom.
