Advent: Anticipating Christ
Advent is a celebration on the church calendar where we wait for the arrival of Christ. What we do in the church is look back and celebrate the first Advent of Christ as we wait with eager anticipation for the second Advent of Christ. What do we do when we're waiting for someone or something to arrive--something we are longing for the arrival of? In the waiting, there is anticipation and preparation. We anticipate and prepare for Christmas, but do we approach Advent the same way?
