In a world filled with spiritual claims and self-proclaimed prophets, believers must learn to discern truth from error. The primary test is whether any teaching affirms that Jesus Christ came in the flesh as fully God and fully man. Beyond this foundational test, we can evaluate spiritual claims through four practical tests: the Scripture test (does it align with God's Word), the fruit test (what does it produce in your life), the community test (is it affirmed by mature believers), and the situation test (does it offer false escapes from hardship). Christians are not powerless against deception because the Holy Spirit dwells within them, providing the ability to recognize and overcome false teaching.
