There are seasons in life when we pray, we wait, and nothing seems to change. We look around and wonder why God appears to be working in everyone else's life while our own prayers seem to go unanswered. John 11 confronts that painful question honestly and directly through the story of Lazarus. Jesus loved this family deeply, and yet when He heard that Lazarus was ill, He deliberately waited two more days before going to them. His delay was not indifference. It was intentional, purposeful, and tied to a greater purpose than the one Mary and Martha could see in the middle of their grief.
